Material forms and conceptual constructions. Aug 2015

There is the practice of moving into a work that has both the sum of the parts and whole within the conceptual frame. The parts could be that of a section of the concept, or the actual material form. So the concept in that sense is just a slice of larger construction of thought. It often then is the deconstruction of some theme into its parts as a kind of movement. However the material part may be denoted as an object such as a foot which has a actuallity as realism of the structure rather than the abstract notion of a foot. The problem of the actual real denotation is that it too is just a referrent without the whole and so could be like the concept be a construction of thought given that as detached part from the whole it moves the practice back to the source which is the very idea of the whole.
